How to find us
The studio is at Götgatan 42 on Södermalm, on the west side of the street between Högbergsgatan and Sankt Paulsgatan. From Slussen metro (red and green lines) walk south up Götgatan for about six minutes. From Medborgarplatsen (green line) it is five minutes north. Buses 2, 3 and 76 stop at Slussen; bus 55 stops at Björns trädgård, two minutes away. Journey planning for the whole network is on SL's website.
Cycling is the easiest way to arrive; there are twelve bike stands outside and a Stockholm city bike station at Medborgarplatsen. There is no dedicated car parking. Street parking on Götgatan is metered and scarce; the Slussen garage is the nearest reliable option. Our location on OpenStreetMap and a styled map are on the contact page.

The room
There are 38 seats inside: six window seats along Götgatan, a ten-seat communal oak table, nine two-seat tables and a bench along the back wall facing the open kitchen. From May to September a further twelve seats go out on the pavement. Every table has a power socket within reach; the Wi-Fi password is on the receipt.
On weekdays laptops are welcome everywhere except the communal table. At weekends the whole room is laptop-free from 11:00, a rule we introduced after a Saturday on which fourteen people sat alone in silence with headphones on. It was not fika. Since then weekend afternoons have been noisier and, we think, much better. We do not take reservations for groups under six; for six or more, use the contact form.
Dogs are welcome inside and a water bowl lives by the door. There is pram parking in the entrance lobby and two high chairs. Music is on but low, and there is no television.
Accessibility
- Step-free entrance from the street; the door is 92 cm wide and held open in summer.
- An accessible toilet with grab rails and a baby-changing table is on the ground floor.
- Tables are 74 cm high with clear knee space; the communal table has removable chairs at both ends.
- Menus are available in large print, and the counter has a lowered section for ordering from a seated position.
- Staff are happy to bring orders to the table; just ask when you order.
Private hire
The full room can be hired on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 18:30 to 21:30 and on Sunday evenings from 17:00 to 20:00. The flat hire fee is 6,500 SEK, which covers the space, two staff, coffee, tea and use of the sound system. Food and drink are charged separately with a minimum spend of 4,500 SEK; a typical evening for 30 guests with a bun, a cookie plate and two drinks each comes to roughly 11,000 SEK all in. Alcohol is limited to beer and wine under our licence and must be bought through us. Capacity is 40 seated or 55 standing. Extra hours are 1,500 SEK each, and a 50 per cent deposit secures the date.

Orders need 24 hours' notice. Delivery within Södermalm and Gamla stan is free on orders over 1,500 SEK and 150 SEK otherwise; the rest of inner Stockholm is a flat 250 SEK. Collection is free. Vegan and gluten-free substitutions are available on request at no extra cost.
Hire or catering?
Private hire
- Everything is warm and made on the spot, and the espresso machine is running.
- No clearing up, no washing up.
- Only available on four evenings a week, and only after 18:30.
Catering
- Works at any time of day, including the 10:00 and 15:00 slots when fika actually happens.
- Costs a fraction of a hire for the same number of people.
- Buns are baked that morning but will not be oven-warm on arrival; ten minutes at 150 °C fixes that.
